Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 28, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how the Caryl Shuham Campaign (“the Campaign,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you visit carylshuham.com (the “Site”) or otherwise interact with our campaign. By using the Site or providing us with information, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information We Collect
Information you give us
When you fill out a form, sign up, volunteer, contact us, or make a contribution, we may collect information you choose to provide — such as your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, city, ZIP code, occupation and employer, the volunteer activities you’re interested in, and the content of any messages you send us.
Contribution information
Contributions are processed by our third-party payment processor, Anedot. Your payment-card details are collected and handled directly by that processor and are not stored by us. Applicable Florida and Broward County campaign-finance laws require us to collect and report certain information about contributors — which may include your name, mailing address, occupation, and employer. This information may become part of the public record as required by law.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain technical information, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, the pages you view, and how you arrived at the Site. We collect this information using cookies and similar technologies (see “Cookies and Analytics” below).
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Communicate with you about the campaign, events, volunteer opportunities, and how to vote;
- Process, acknowledge, and report contributions and comply with campaign-finance requirements;
- Coordinate and follow up on volunteer activities;
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and our outreach;
- Understand and analyze how visitors use the Site;
- Comply with applicable laws and protect the rights, safety, and property of the Campaign and others.
Email and Text Messaging
If you provide your email address, we may send you campaign updates and requests. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email.
If you provide your phone number, you consent to receive calls and text messages from the Campaign, including by automated means, about the campaign, events, volunteering, and voting. Message and data rates may apply, and message frequency varies. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any contribution. You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message, or reply HELP for help.
Cookies and Analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember your preferences, and understand site traffic. We may use third-party analytics services that set their own cookies to help us measure and improve performance. Most web browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings; doing so may affect how the Site functions.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in the following circumstances:
- Service providers. With vendors who perform services on our behalf — such as our email platform, payment processor, hosting, and analytics providers — and who are permitted to use the information only to provide those services.
- Campaign team. With our staff and volunteers for campaign purposes.
- Legal and compliance. When required by law, including public disclosure of contributor information under applicable campaign-finance laws, or in response to lawful requests by public authorities.
- Protection of rights. To enforce our terms, protect the security or integrity of the Site, or protect the rights, property, or safety of the Campaign, our supporters, or others.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect the information we collect. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Third-Party Links and Services
The Site may link to or rely on third-party websites and services, including our payment processor and social media platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.
Children’s Privacy
The Site is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

We will honor such requests where required by law, subject to information we are required to retain for legal or campaign-finance recordkeeping purposes.
